New Atlantis/Morrow Project weapon: Milkor MGL

This is the Milkor MGL-140, which could be used in a ‘late-date’ Morrow Project.  However – for those who prefer the dates given in 3rd edition – there was also a version produced in 1981 (the MK1 shown in the table below).

Milkor MGL Mk.1 / Mk.1S Milkor MGL-140
Caliber 40x46mm
Type multi-shot revolver
Overall length, shoulder rest open/folded 730 / 630 mm 787 / 661 mm
Weight 5.3 kg empty (5.6 kg Mk. 1S) 6 kg empty
Effective range 150 m point targets; up to 400 m area targets
Capacity 6 rounds

Load: 36 rds 40mm

Load Weight: 15.72kg

The advantage of the MGL-140 is versatility: it can handle Medium Velocity rounds (which double the range) and the whole range of less-lethal ammunition.

A good gunner can fire 6 rounds in 3 seconds and maintain a rate of fire of approximately 24 rounds per minute.

I haven’t heard “New Atlantis” in twenty years. That’s the name I gave my version of Morrow Project around 1987. James Pilant
